Our Generation
- To Enjoying What The World Has to Offer -

by: Miandra David

A glimpse of the world from a different view.

"Our generation is inclined to believe that drugs, sex, money and partying implies happiness because that is what is depicted by capitalist — inspired media. When we aren’t partying, we are “concealed” — sitting behind a computer downloading music, watching videos, posting on social media — living a virtual and lonely life that we only break out of for weekends of nightlife involving drugs, sex, and music. Instead, we should be out experiencing all the other things the world has to offer."

Self Esteem
By: Miandra David
The question is.. "how would you describe your self esteem?"
Well, I could be simple and tell you that it's content but my self esteem really is in between a high and a low self-esteem and to be completely honest with you it just depends on the people I surround myself with - in that exact moment. I could say certain things in front of my closest friends with confidence but I can't say them in front of my own family.. And vice versa. I think it all has to do with who we are and what we feel we have to prove to ourselves and to the world. It's like looking into someone eyes, I can't talk to certain people and look them in the eye because I don't feel that deep of a connection with them or I just choose not to feel that connection with them. I think it's just the way we're brought up to be honest, and the environment that surrounds us - that's what creates our self-esteem and who we are, majority of the time. And the truth is I think that a lot of teenagers put up a front, we all are really afraid of judgment and being judged by those we like. For example our "crushes", we want them to find us interesting just upon first impressions.. And to wrap it up I guess I can say that I think it's our society and even the simplest, smallest stereotypes that affect us in today's world.
