Makeup Is A Passion
By: Taylor M
I'll admit, when i first told myself that i wanted to make makeup a career, i was pretty skeptical. Becoming a makeup artist takes a lot of work. You have to know the right people, but most importantly, you have to have the passion for makeup. You have to have the passion to make people feel beautiful and confident. Being a makeup artist is all about hard work. You have to have a lot of patience (something i lack most of the time) You have to deal with different types of people every single day, and you have to know how to adjust yourself to their skin types and to the things they like (it's always about the client) Honestly, sometimes i want to just give up on my dream, you know, you deal with rude people sometimes, or there's always that one person who's very indecisive about what they want, but i know that in the long run, all the frustration, blood, sweat and tears will pay off. I believe that i can take this makeup thing far. I believe in myself enough to know that someday i may become a celebrity makeup artist or a movie/film artist. It's just all about the drive and the PASSION.

STYLE JOURNAL

Purple- Today is purple day! Purple is a very bright color in itself so to complement the colors and make them even brighter I will be adding some blue in the crease and the lower lash line. I will then add in some pink shimmer over my purple shadow base color. With a little bit of white in my inner corners.

Green- Let’s get green! Today’s look consists of a beautiful neon green Smokey eye with a hint of gold. I will be using a lime green from Urban Decay’s Electric palette as my semi-base color. To complement the green, I will be adding a gold shadow on the inner and outer corners of my eye. I will finish the look off with the same gold on my lower lash line, along with a thick black liner winged out on top.

Yellow- Today we will be feeling the sunshine with a beautiful, bright and refreshing yellow eye look. I will be using a bright yellow from Urban Decay’s Electric Palette. To compliment this color, I will be using a soft pink in the crease with a winged out black liner. I will also be adding a soft white in my inner corners.

Royal Blue- Today I will be creating a bright royal blue eye look. I will be using Urban Decay’s Electric Palette. Using all blue as my base, along with a matte black in the crease. To finish off the look, I will use the same blue along my lower lash line, and I will be adding faux lashes to my eyes.

Hot Pink- On Wednesdays we wear pink! Today I will be creating a hot neon pink look. I will be using a neon oink as my base color from Urban Decay’s Electric Palette. I will use a light pink shimmer in my crease and blend it out to really make the colors pop. I will finish off the look with a coat of black liquid liner along the top of my eye.
Orange- Today I will be creating an orange and copper Smokey eye look. I will be using a bright orange shadow from my Electric palette as my base shadow. I will then be adding a copper based shadow in my creaser to blend and complement the orange. To finish the look I will add a very thin but bold black liner along the top of my eye.

Red- Today is about giving off a dramatic sex appeal while adding in a pop of color. I will be using a white base shadow so that when I apply my red, it will stand out more. I will then be using a soft brown tone in my crease. I will be adding a brown liner along my waterline to brighten up the colors.

White/ Silver- Today I will be going for a glittery Cinderella look. I will be using a white shimmer base shadow. I will then be using a soft silver in my crease and I will be blending it out. I will then use a 3D glitter in the inner corners of my eyes along with a thick bold black liner along my lower lash line.
Light Blue/ Teal- Today is another blue day. Today I will be creating a light blue and teal Smokey eye using the Electric Palette. To really make the look bright, I will be using as light brown in the crease, and I will also add a shimmer glitter to the inner corners of my eyes. I will be adding a thin bold black liner on my lower lashes along with faux lashes.
Rainbow- Today is about going all out with color! I will be using a little bit of every color with my Electric Palette. I will use each color as a base shadow along with coloring my eyebrows. I will be using a lot of multicolored glitters along with faux lashes to really make the look pop and too add life to it.
